Sears is another provider with excellent home warranties. The company offers an enviable 180-day workmanship guarantee which is twice as long as what you get with AHS. It means that if any issues arise within six months of purchasing the warranty, the company will cover 100 percent of the service costs.
Their cover is quite generous too. Aside from the $1,000 limit on pools and ultra-premium appliances, everything else is covered up to $10,000. And, the company provides customers with free heating and cooling maintenance checks once every year.

What a waste of my time. We scheduled an in-home repair several days in advance, it was confirmed via phone call the day prior and we were given a 4 hour window, 8am-noon.
The day of the supposed repair, i received a call at 11am indicating that the technician “called out” and our appointment would be cancelled. The NEXT available appointment date would be in two weeks. Imagine that? Two weeks. My morning was ruined, the two hours it took to drive to and from the parts store were my inconvenience and my being upset obviously is just tough.
So I took matters into my own hands and located the part, installed it in 5 minutes at a total cost of $45. The Sears service call was to be $79 to walk in the door and then the cost of the parts. My saving of at least $79 and I can only imagine what they would have charged for the part was my problem.
So Sears, here is my response: We have recently moved and are planning on getting an entire new kitchen suite (refrig, dishwasher, stove and microwave …. plus a new washer and dryer. Can you guess where I WILL NOT BE shopping? Lowe’s and Home Depot….here I come.
